Use this card in Power Automate

In your flow, add Post adaptive card and wait for a response. Paste the card JSON into that action.

After someone submits the card, use the action's response fields in later steps. Submit buttons also include an action name, such as Approve, so your flow can tell which button was chosen.

The preview only imitates a response. Test the card in Teams to check how your Teams client displays it and returns its inputs. A link button opens a web page; it does not send a card response.

Save cards for later

Cards are saved only in this browser.

Give this setup a name you will recognise.

To keep a separate version of a saved card, load it, change its name here, then save it.

Use this card replaces the current form and preview with the saved card you selected. Download backup saves an editable copy to your computer. Import backup opens an editable copy from your computer. For Power Automate, use Download JSON above.

Generated card JSON

This is the card's JSON text. Copy it into Power Automate, then test the card in Teams before using it in a flow.

Check your card

Review before using in a flow

These basic checks flag sample content, blank details, input labels and link issues. They are not a full accessibility audit.

Learn the main parts of this card

TextBlock shows text. FactSet shows labelled details. Inputs collect answers.

Action.Submit sends the input answers and its data.action value to the flow. Use that value to identify the selected button.

Action.OpenUrl opens a link instead; it does not submit answers.

      About the Tool

This guided builder is designed for beginners creating common Teams cards and intermediate makers who want to customise a template quickly. Choose a template and edit its supported fields; it does not provide a freeform editor for arbitrary card layouts. For a full visual editor, try Microsoft's official Adaptive Card Designer. You can also customise the generated JSON outside this builder. Cards you save stay in your browser; always test the exported card in Teams before using it in a flow.

      Quick answers

      Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Power Automate Teams Adaptive Card Builder?

It is a free browser-based tool to simplify the process of customising an Adaptive Card template, previewing the result, and copying or downloading the card JSON for Microsoft Teams and Power Automate.

What templates can I start with?

Choose from templates for approvals and requests, forms and feedback, check-ins, announcements, and updates. Examples include RSVP, time-off request, expense, quick poll, and incident alert.

How do I create an Adaptive Card?

Choose a starting template, edit its fields, then review the live preview and generated JSON. You can copy the JSON to your clipboard or download it as a file.

Can I create any card layout with this tool?

This builder customises supported fields in ready-made templates; it does not create arbitrary layouts. For a freeform visual editor, use Microsoft's official Adaptive Card Designer.

How do I use the generated card in Power Automate?

Add the “Post adaptive card and wait for a response” action to your flow, then paste the card JSON into that action. Use the returned response fields in later flow steps.

What happens when someone submits a card?

When someone submits a card, the action in your flow receives the answers and selected action. Use those values in later flow steps—for example, to save a response or send a follow-up. Link buttons open a web page and do not submit a response.

Can I use the preview to confirm a card works in Teams?

The preview is a visual simulation, not a live Teams client. Review the generated JSON and test the card in Teams to confirm how it displays and how its inputs and actions behave.

Are my saved cards uploaded or shared?

No. Saved cards stay in your current browser. Use the backup download and import options to move an editable copy between browsers or devices.
